Avocados are in shorter supply this week. Find out why along with updates on other fresh fruit and vegetables in The Source from PRO*ACT.
The recent series of rain events in the California strawberry growing regions are causing harvest interruptions and crop degradations, and shippers are firming up pricing on them. A good portion of the growers are packing strawberries for secondary usages and or stripping fruit making this market tight. As always after heavy rains, there is potential for quality issues like bruising and soft berries.
Shippers are subbing organic strawberries to fill orders but there is still potential for orders to be pro-rated. The current quality issues are expected to be seen for at least the next couple of weeks. We will do everuthing possible to keep the best quality available during this time.
