Port strike expected to affect supply of pineapples, bananas, beans and asparagus.
Strawberry supplies have been in a downward trend. Typical for this me of year, shippers have less product available to harvest as they transion to their fall crop.
Fusarium that causes plant stunng and drying out is also contribung to lower yields for our growers. Shelf life has decreased substanally due to weaker berries on the plants to where harvest crews are being very selecve on what is being packed which is reducing yields greatly.
Shippers are covering as much of our orders as they can but are having to allocate orders. Shortages within the next couple weeks are probable. Quality is expected to be fair at best. Rest assured, we will do all we can to reduce impact to our customers. Supply and quality is expected to improve about the second week of August.
