Heat Affects Quality of Produce

Soaring temperatures and wildfires in California are causing produce shortages.

Temperatures in the growing regions of California continue to reach record highs.  This alone can have an effect on produce quality and availability on tender fruits and vegetables grown in California.

There have been more than 10,000 lightning strikes in California over the last 72 hours, an "historic lightning seige: that has caused more than 367 wildfires.  Multiple outbreaks of fires have been a direct cause of shortages in production. This is an industry wide issue with production in California. Harvesting crews have been minimized and hours of harvesting have been cut way back with all shippers. Ash is the latest issue suppliers are claiming as fires continue to burn. Expect quality issues on all produce items. Suppliers are doing their very best to pack good, clean produce.  We recommend ordering just want you need i the short term.
