Avocado imports from Mexico have been limited, and field prices are rising 20-30%. Two major upcoming national holidays in Mexico will severely limit harvests for two to three weeks.
Due to a national holiday and three rain out days in Mexico, we are experiencing disruptions to avocado harvests. In addition, growers are slowing the pace of harvest to escalate market pricing. We are seeing gradual price increases
primarily on 48 ct fruit at this time.
The short term concern will be the availability of ripe fruit as crossings are slowed. We will do our best during this time to stay ahead on ripe fruit and meet your specifications.
