Top of Texas Apples | Farwell, TX
The Williams’ are pioneers in the true sense of the word. They first settled in Colorado in the mid-1800’s where they have been growing apples for the past five generations. More than 150 years later, they have carried on this pioneer spirit by being the first (and only) commercial apple grower in the state of Texas.
They began farming in Texas more than 20 years ago to diversify the business. So they partnered with several corn and cotton farmers near Farwell, Texas and planted apples as a way to make their fields productive while conserving water. The delicious result is 70 acres of Gala, Cameo, Honeycrisp, Fuji , Pink Lady and Jonagold apples grown right on the Texas/New Mexico border.
Top of Texas continues to be a family operation. Ty Williams and his father Don manage the business with the help of his son, a senior in high school, and college-aged daughter. Williams’ grandfather recently retired at the age of 88…you know what they say about an apple a day!
Top of Texas apples are sold exclusively through HEB and Hardie’s Fresh Foods.
